Hello. I’m William "Robert" Sullivan and I’m the proud owner of Willpower Wellness.
Welcome to this site!
A few facts about myself: I was raised in San Diego but moved to Jessamine County, KY in my late teens to be closer to family,
especially my grandfather. I have a degree from Full Sail University as a Recording Engineer and
a degree from Le Cordon Bleu as a French trained chef, but after a long career in computer software development, I decided to pursue a career that focused on helping others.
My interest in Chinese and holistic medicine, acupuncture, and martial arts led me to become a
Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) where I now have over 7 years and 10,000+ hours of experience.
The mind and body are connected and when one hurts, the other is affected.
Though life is a gift, it can be difficult, especially when we suffer physically.
We often neglect ourselves for years until one day an injury or pain “wakes us” as our body screams, “take care of me.”
My goal as a therapist is to work with each client to determine the origin of pain then develop a treatment plan that will
provide the quickest results in the least amount of time. My emphasis is on Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) Scar Therapy
Release and MPS Pain Management. Everyone has scars and every scar tells a story. Anytime the body has to heal an area,
that tissue can be considered a scar. We all accumulate traumas and injuries throughout our lives. These scars and traumas
impact the body in negative ways. Science now recognizes that surgical scars contribute to the #1 postoperative problem experienced
after surgery: Chronic pain. Chronic Post Surgical Pain (CPSP) is pain lasting more than 3 to 6 months after surgery. All scars
produce negative adverse effects. They are catalysts for pain and stress activation and may be the key to unlocking the mysteries
of many pain syndromes and diseases. Scars produce chronic pain, body-wide pain, activate sympathetic STRESS, negatively influence
gut microbiome, produce fascial restrictions, cause the formation of internal adhesions, stagnate energy, lymph and circulation,
and scars lock in emotions of the trauma of the cells. Scars and trauma restrict or bind the fascia, muscles, nerves, bones, organs,
and systems. They produce a straitjacket-like effect throughout the entire body structure. They block the movement of circulation
and energy which can interfere with health and wellness. Scars cause system up-regulation and act as stress agonists creating an
environment for sickness and pain. The negative influence of scars is far-reaching and very deep within our bodies. Thus, my focus
is to treat underlying issues that are likely hiding in scars and trauma and to treat and assist each client to become stronger,
more flexible, more mobile, more active and improve overall wellness.
